A year later and COVID has taught us to appreciate the beauty of smaller details. The details definitely make the difference and in this case they are what will make your event even more special. Here’s my thoughts on what will be trending this upcoming season:
Intentional Use of Color: This is a given; the shift from using a ‘pop of color’ as an accent to using color as a 'statement choice' will be more evident. People are ready to celebrate and that's your excuse to go bright and be big in making daring color decisions. Consider using color to influence your guests’ experience, make it sensory. What will they see? What emotions will they feel? Color impacts mood.
Intimate Settings: This will still be the norm. Being wise in our planning: keeping the guest list tight (screen temps, having sanitizer on hand, sanitizing surfaces, etc.) is going to be the move for the months ahead as we try to live normal again. Look at this as a chance to reconnect with those closest to you, first. Plan events for your extended family, circle of friends, or the coworkers that you’ve been stuck on Zoom with for the past year. Host the event in an open space where there’s room to be social yet distanced! Consider booking a sectioned area in a restaurant, going all out with an open air setting in your backyard, etc. With some venue spaces opening their group bookings, check to see if there are any small group discounts available!
Frugal & Creative Solutions for Event Needs: There are tons of ways to save money and still pull off a well designed, intimate and creative event that won’t break the bank. Have you seen those videos floating around with ideas on making charcuterie boards, tortilla wraps… social media has brought the best out of us in this pandemic! This is a great opportunity to try one of them. Remember we’re starting with our closest circles to remain safe & healthy, so ideas like these will make the event memorable and save you money. If you opt to book a venue space, get creative with solutions for catering (diy food stations), interactive elements (QR codes for activities-minimize touch factors).
Let’s explore these trends together this week and talk about specific ideas with some examples. Be sure to follow @signetcreations on IG and FB to catch some suggestions on how you can use these trends to plan your event this Spring!
